Exploring Agentic AI: Insights from today’s “AI & Data in Business and Management” seminar

Today, our seminar “AI & Data in Business and Management” took place again in the winter semester – now for the ninth time. Co-led by Dr. Lydia Mammen (Vice President Digital Analytics, adidas AG) and Prof. Dr. Kai-Ingo Voigt, the seminar focuses on forward-looking topics at the intersection of AI, business, and technology.

This semester, our students explored agentic AI — intelligent systems that can act autonomously on behalf of users. In their final presentations, they tackled three questions in particular:

  • How will voice commerce evolve in the age of agentic AI?
  • Agentic AI and the future of marketing: What might tomorrow’s marketing strategies look like?
  • UX for AI agents: What does good AI interaction look like in a corporate context?

The student teams impressed us with sharp analyses, creative perspectives, and an equally thoughtful discussion of what agentic AI could mean for customers, business models, and digital strategy.

Thank you to all students for your excellent contributions — and a special thanks to Dr. Lydia Mammen for her continued expertise and engagement throughout the seminar.
