Behind the scenes of a startup success story: Guest lecture by CityHunters co-founder Daniel

On November 27th, Prof. Kai-Ingo Voigt and the Chair of Industrial Management were delighted to welcome Dr. Daniel Sekula from CityHunters for an inspiring guest lecture in our Innovation & Entrepreneurship module. CityHunters, a Nuremberg-based company specializing in team-building events and excursions, was co-founded by FAU alumni Philipp Steiner and Daniel Sekula.

In his 60-minute keynote, Daniel shared the milestones and challenges of growing CityHunters from a student project into a successful and scalable business. He emphasized the importance of digitalization, continuous business model innovation, and resilient decision-making – especially when navigating crises such as the Covid pandemic. Daniel also offered hands-on advice for students interested in founding their own ventures and concluded with an open Q&A session, giving participants the chance to ask individual questions about entrepreneurship in practice.

We sincerely thank Daniel for his insightful and motivating talk and for sharing his personal experiences with our students. Our best wishes go to CityHunters for their future journey – we are already looking forward to seeing you again at FAU!
