After last week’s presentations on the crisis of Lufthansa, Continental, and Volkswagen, in our second presentation session on Monday, July 14th, our fantastic student teams presented their results on the strategies of Thyssenkrupp and Bayer in our renowned seminar with Prof. Heinrich v. Pierer. Just in time for the far-reaching structural changes within Thyssenkrupp proposed by current CEO Miguel Borrego, who has called for a complete restructuring of the long-established steel producer, our students have presented an excellent analysis of how Thyssenkrupp reached one of its darkest times and is now facing multiple issues at once. And for Bayer, it is always “right on time”, because the historic industry giant has been suffering for years from the Monsanto acquisition. Our two student groups did a great job at analyzing the crisis and proposing successful strategies for both firms to finally overcome their challenges. It was once again a pleasure working with these talented students and listening to and learning from the endless expertise of Prof. Heinrich von Pierer! We ended the seminar with a joint dinner at a local restaurant, continuing a well-established tradition 😊
In the name of all students, Prof. Voigt and Michael Mertel thank Prof. Heinrich v. Pierer and Dr. Ulrich Dörrie for their continuous engagement in our class! We are already looking forward to the winter semester – there is more to come! 😊
