As part of our guest lecture series in ‘Industrial Management’, Prof Voigt and his team were honored to welcome Theo Papadopoulos on 2 July. As head of the Siemens Industrial Metaverse Lab, he provided exclusive insights into Siemens’ vision of the Industrial Metaverse.
In his forward-looking session, Theo introduced the Industrial Metaverse as a powerful evolution – not a revolution – towards immersive, collaborative and data-driven engineering environments. Using Siemens’ own Electronics Factory in Erlangen as a real-world example, he demonstrated how the integration of AI, Digital Twins, and real-time simulation is fundamentally transforming how we design, operate, and optimize industrial systems.
His keynote gave students deep insights into how the Industrial Metaverse is reshaping sustainability, innovation, and the way we make decisions. The subsequent discussion was well received and offered answers to open questions about this novel technology.
