On Friday, May 3rd, Prof. Voigt and his team were invited to facilitate a one-day Design Thinking workshop at MTP’s 67th branch meeting (Geschäftsstellenversammlung). With more than 2,300 students and 1,400 alumni, MTP is the leading student initiative for marketing in Germany. After Dominik Moczko (Regional Marketing Manager at Staedtler) introduced Staedtler as a renowned Nuremberg-based player in the creative industries, Prof. Voigt, Martin Meinel, Tobias Eismann, and Dr. Christian Baccarella taught 18 highly motivated MTP members how to apply Design Thinking. Therefore, in order to “improve the writing experience”, participants searched for latent unsatisfied needs in the writing context by interviewing random people in the Old Town of Nuremberg. Afterwards, participants applied buzzword analysis to generate creative solution ideas. In the end, they created rapid prototypes of their concept and presented them in front of the audience. The workshop team and Dominik Moczko were impressed by the final pitch presentations of the innovative concepts that showed how much creativity flowed during this day. Prof. Voigt, who was also patron of the branch meeting, thanks MTP for their invitation and Staedtler for the professional and enjoyable cooperation, and looks forward to further creative projects.
