Behind the scenes at a startup: How FAU graduates Philipp and Daniel built CityHunters

CityHunters Guestlecture

On December 7th, Prof. Voigt and the Chair of Industrial Management was delighted to welcome Dr. Daniel Sekula from CityHunters for an engaging guest lecture in our Innovation & Entrepreneurship module. CityHunters, a Nuremberg-based startup focusing on team-building events and excursions, was co-founded by Philipp and Daniel, both alumni of FAU. Their entrepreneurial spark was ignited during their time at FAU, particularly through their experience in the renowned “5-Euro Business” course, where they initially developed and tested their business concept and actually founded the CityHunters.

In a riveting 60-minute keynote, Daniel recounted their entrepreneurial path, emphasizing the role of digital transformation and the need for continuous business model evolution. His talk highlighted how CityHunters successfully tackled the Covid pandemic’s challenges through intelligent decision-making, rapid digitalization, and a commitment to process innovation. The presentation concluded with valuable advice for students contemplating entrepreneurship and an open Q&A session.

We particularly want to thank Daniel for conducting this inspiring session and very much appreciate his insightful contributions. Our best wishes go to CityHunters for their future endeavors – see you soon @WiSo!
