From June 10-13, the Chair of Industrial Management presented their latest insights from design thinking research at the Innovation and Product Development Management Conference (IPDMC) in Porto. On behalf of the other co-authors (Tobias Eismann, Christian Baccarella, and Kai-Ingo Voigt), Martin Meinel and Sebastian Fixson (Babson College) talked about the undervalued role of problem framing during design thinking and its impact on team creative processes. Besides inspiring discussions on design thinking and innovation, the conference offered a rich programme celebrating its 25th anniversary. Prof. Voigt and his team were very pleased about having the opportunity to present their latest research at one of the most renowned conferences in innovation research. We are already looking forward to next year’s conference to be held at the University of Leicester.
