Prof. Voigt and Prof. Scheffler had the pleasure to welcome Prof. Dieter Kempf (BDI-president), who held a captivating guest lecture on Industrie 4.0 and on its cross-national effects. After introducing the BDI, which is the leading organization of the German industry and of industrial service providers, Prof. Kempf shared insights on the role of German manufacturing industries in a global context. Moreover, he discussed the impact of the Industrie 4.0 megatrend on economies and societies alike.
