On November 16th, the President of FAU, Prof. Dr. Joachim Hornegger, Vice President Prof. Dr. Kathrin Möslein as well as the hosts of the event, Prof. Dr. Markus Beckmann and Prof. Voigt were pleased to welcome Oliver Zipse, CEO of BMW Group, for a fascinating guest lecture about circularity and the sustainable strategy of BMW. More than 350 students followed the captivating lecture and were rewarded with exciting insights into strategic management topics as well as BMW’s future prospects. In view of the worsening climate situation, BMW sees a need for action and is setting completely new standards along the entire life cycle, as Oliver Zipse stated. According to BMW´s so-called “Technology Openness” Strategy, they aim to integrate different driving technologies to serve the diverse customer needs in a globalized market. In an intensive discussion, several students from Bachelor, Master and MBA programs took the opportunity to address their questions directly to Oliver Zipse. The guest lecture was very well received and rewarded with a long-lasting applause at the end.

We thank Oliver Zipse for visiting our school and we are looking forward to welcoming him again at FAU’s WiSo pretty soon!
