On September 13th 2022, Prof. Voigt joined the Weltmarktführer Innovation Day in Erlangen, organized by the Wirtschaftswoche and co-initiated by FAU. This year, multiple high-ranking speakers from business, science, and politics shared their views and discussed about how to enable “sustainable mobility.”

Among others, Oliver Zipse (CEO of BMW) talked about BMW’s open approach that considers different technologies. Unlike most carmakers, BMW is not only focusing on e-cars in the long term, but on various drive technologies, such as combustion engines, hybrids with combustion engines and electric motors, fully electric cars and hydrogen cars. He emphasized that innovative driving concepts, from e-mobility to hydrogen, as well as new transportation concepts, are key drivers for sustainable mobility. Moreover, Eric Bach (Senior Vice President, Product and Chief Engineer at Lucid Motors) presented some radically new innovations in the field of driving.

Besides the inspiring program, Prof. Voigt took the opportunity to exchange with many familiar faces from industry and academia.

We would like to thank Beat Balzli (editor-in-chief at Wirtschaftswoche), Prof. Joachim Hornegger, Prof. Kathrin Möslein and the entire team for organizing this great event!

PS: We are already looking forward to welcome Oliver Zipse at our WiSo in the upcoming winter semester – stay tuned!
