Yesterday, we kicked off this summer term’s seminar for master students on strategic innovation management at DATEV IT-campus. DATEV-CEO Dr. Robert Mayr warmly welcomed our 20 highly motivated students and introduced them to the company as one of the largest registered cooperative societies in Germany. Dr. Mayr emphasized the company’s and also his personal interest in the students’ results on their task of elaborating on “the role of urbanization for DATEV’s business model”. To stimulate idea generation, André Winzer (trend expert and CEO of the Berlin-based innovation consultancy Schaltzeit)  presented an explanation of urbanization and showed many sub-trends that go hand in hand with this global megatrend. Finally, the five student teams used their opportunity to ask several DATEV employees to brainstorm some initial ideas.

The chair of industrial management is very excited to see the results at the final presentations and gives sincere thanks to Dr. Mayr for his invitation. Moreover, we thank Nicole Hess (DATEV Lab) for creating an inspirational workshop setting, Daniel Feest and Thorsten Hesse (both DATEV) for supporting the teams with company insights, and André Winzer for his stimuli to the megatrend urbanization.
