On June 13, the Chair of Industrial Management held a small and exclusive “Boutique Research Conference” as part of the seminar “AI & Data in Business and Management” with Dr. Lydia Mammen (Vice President Data Analytics, adidas AG). In particular, three student teams presented and discussed their empirical research results. They examined the acceptance of AI for consumers and within companies. Moreover, they investigated and discussed about the “uncanny valley”. Prof. Dr. Kai-Ingo Voigt, Dr. Lukas Maier and Dr. Christian Baccarella had the pleasure to get deep insights into these topics. All of the presentation sparked intense discussions about the current and future role of AI in marketing and management. Dr. Lydia Mammen enriched the discussions with interesting insights from adidas, giving the students the opportunity to get first-hand experiences of how AI is currently used in practice in a worldwide renowned company.

The whole team thanks Lydia and the students for their contributions to this seminar! The seminar will be back next semester with new and exciting topics in the context of AI.
