At the 22nd Continuous Innovation Network (CINet) Conference, Marc Rücker represented the Chair of Industrial Management with a paper presentation in the session “Creativity and Innovativeness“. The paper “Working in the office or working from home: where are employees most creative?” was co-authored by Lukas Maier, Oscar Pakos, Sophia Windschiegl and Prof. Dr. Kai-Ingo Voigt. In this study, we highlight the importance of physical work environments in fostering creativity. In the course of this, we come to the exiting conclusion that activity-based workspaces support the completion of creative team tasks, while working from home is suitable for creative individual work. From these findings, clear recommendations for action can be derived for the design of our work environment after the COVID-19 pandemic.

We were very happy about the great discussions and the inspiring feedback on our study. Furthermore, we are already looking forward to the next CINet Conference in 2022!
