Due to the Corona pandemic not only teaching, but also research activities have largely moved to virtual and digital space. However, Prof. Voigt and the Chair of Industrial Management are making the best of the circumstances and have participated in a second virtual conference: the 15th CSCMP European Research Seminar (ERS) on Logistics and Supply Chain Management. This year’s theme was “Rethinking Supply Chains” – an issue that unexpectedly became ever more relevant in the last months.

So instead of presenting our latest research on “Ecosystems 4.0: Redesigning Global Value Chains” in Barcelona, the paper’s authors Prof. Kai-Ingo Voigt, Marie-Christin Schmidt, Johannes Veile and Prof. Julian Müller presented it online. After uploading a video presentation, we vividly discussed the study and our results with Supply Chain researchers from all over Europe and further regions. The feedback and inputs we received are very valuable and will help us in further improving our research.

We are happy that the organizers managed to host the conference despite the challenging situation and thank them for having us! It was a great experience and we are already looking forward to meeting our colleagues next year – hopefully in real-life!
