On October 21st, the “Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften 2017” took place in the metropolitan region of Nürnberg, Erlangen, and Fürth. Prof. Dr. Kai-Ingo Voigt shared his opinion and knowledge on the future of work in the context of Industry 4.0 in an expert panel discussion organized by the Center for Management, Technology, and Society (CMTS). Under the slogan “Industry 4.0: End or future of work?”, renowned experts from both science and practice, e.g., Prof. Dr. Christian Bär (Chief Digital Officer of DATEV eG), gave profound insights into the future role of employees and human work in an increasingly digitized and connected job environment. Prof. Voigt and his discussion partners agreed on the vital necessity and key role of employees for making Industry 4.0 a successful paradigm of future value creation.

Prof. Voigt gives special thanks to Prof. Dr. Markus Beckmann for moderating the panel and to the audience for their numerous and sophisticated questions that stimulated an exciting debate.
